PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating operation member for braking force adjustment capable of bringing a desired braking force common use range (desired absolute maximum braking force) without affecting operability of other operation member such as handles and reel holding performance and capable of easily adjusting again a setting braking range (position) being a turning operating range (turning position), and provide a fishing reel with such a rotating operation member.SOLUTION: A fishing reel includes a spool brake mechanism integrally rotating with a spool by the rotating operation of a rotating operation member 60 being rotatably supported for braking force adjustment and imparting the braking force to the rotation in the line unwinding direction of the spool shaft in one side plate 3b of a reel body provided with a handle 10. The rotating operation member 60 has a turning operation part 60A related to the braking force adjustment and an indicator part 110 serving as an indicator of the turning position of the turning operation part 60A.
