PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool for a long object, whose door portion can easily be switched into an opened posture or a closed posture, can surely hold the end portion of the long object at an arbitrary position with the door portion switched into the closed posture, and can enlarge the receiving capacity of a winding portion.SOLUTION: The spool for the long object has a cylindrically formed body portion (2) and a pair of flange portions (3) extended from both the side ends of the body portion (2) on the radially outer sides, in which the winding portion (5) is formed on the periphery of the body portion (2) between both the flange portions (3). A ring-like door portion (7) is extendedly disposed on the outer peripheral portion (6) of the flange portion (3), and a thin dent groove portion (8) is formed circularly on the base end side of the door portion (7).
