The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition and, more specifically, to an antimicrobial composition inhibiting quaternary ammonium compound-resistant bacteria characterized by comprising: a) chloride cetyl pyridinium； and b) propionic acid and salt thereof. The antimicrobial composition of the present invention has excellent antimicrobial and antifungal effects on various microorganism such as gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria, eumycetes, yeast and the like when a single composition or two mixtures are used as compared with each raw material and protects a product and a user from external exposure environments since the persistency of the antimicrobial and antifungal effects is excellent. Additionally, the antimicrobial composition of the present invention is harmless to a human body since the antimicrobial composition has a skin unstimulation effect, a skin stability effect and an avirulence effect by being made up of food and cosmetic materials verified for safety. The antimicrobial composition of the present invention does not affect the physical and chemical properties of a product when being applied to a product and is able to be applied to an existing product and a product manufacturing process without large change. Additionally, the antimicrobial composition of the present invention has excellent product stability and quaternary ammonium-resistant bacteria control effects.본 발명은 방부조성물에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 a) 염화세틸피리디늄 및 b) 프로피온산과 그 염으로 구성되어지는 것을 특징으로 하는 4급 암모늄 계열 내성균에 대한 방부조성물에 관한 것이다.본 발명의 방부조성물은 각각의 원료를 사용한 것보다 조성물을 단독 또는 2개의 혼합물을 사용하였을 때, 그람 양성균, 그람 음성균, 진균, 효모 등 다양한 미생물에 대해 우수한 항균 및 항진균 효과를 가지며, 이러한 항균 및 항진균 효과의 지속력 또한 우수하여 외부 노출 환경으로부터 미생물에 대한 상기 제품 및 사용자를 보호하여주는 효과가 있다.또한, 본 발명의 방부조성물은 안전성이 검증된 식품 및 화장품 원료로 구성되어 있어 피부 무자극 효과, 피부안전성 효과 및 무독성이므로 인체에 무해하다.또한, 본 발명의 방부조성물은 제품에 처리시 제품의 물리적 화학적 성질에 영향을 주지 않을 뿐만 아니라 기존 제품 및 제품의 제조 공정에 큰 변화없이 적용이 가능하다.또한, 본 발명의 방부조성물은 4급 암모늄 내성균 제어 효과와 제품 안전성이 우수하였다.
