PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair growth promoter by using heparin existing in the liver, the lung, the intestines and the spleen of a healthy edible animal as a material and modifying it.SOLUTION: In the modified heparin that substantially loses an anticoagulation activity and maintains affinity for a cell growth factor, cytokinins or a cell adhesion factor obtained by oxidizing heparin with periodic acid and then reducing the oxidized product with borohydride, the carbon-carbon bond of a diol part of hexuronic acid in the modified heparin is cleft and reduced to give two adjacent primary alcohol groups, at least one of the two adjacent primary alcohol groups is esterified with a fatty acid residue to give a lipidphilic modified heparin, which is dissolved in water containing an organic solvent to give the hair growth promoter.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】健康な食用獣の肝、肺、腸、脾にあるヘパリンを材料とし、これを修飾して毛髪成長促進剤を提供する。【解決手段】ヘパリンを過沃素酸で酸化し、次いで水素化硼素で還元して、抗血液凝固活性を実質的に喪失し、細胞増殖因子、サイトカイン類又は細胞接着因子との結合性を保持しているヘパリン修飾体において、その中のヘキスロン酸のジオール部分の炭素間結合を切断するとともに還元して作られた2個の隣接する第一級アルコール基のうち、少なくとも1個の第一級アルコール基を脂肪酸残基でエステル化して親脂質性ヘパリン修飾体を作り、これを有機溶剤含有の水に溶解して毛髪成長促進剤とする。【選択図】図1
