A light therapy device (1) comprises: at least one light source (2) a control device (10) for controlling the operation of the light source a boundary memory (11) containing boundary information defining boundaries for the distance (D) and relative angle (f) of a users head with respect to the light source monitoring means (30) for monitoring the actual distance and actual relative angle of the users head and generating an output signal indicating the measured distance and angle. The control device has an input coupled to the memory for receiving the boundary information, and has an input coupled to the monitoring means for receiving the output signal from the monitoring means. The control device compares the output signal from the monitoring means with the boundary information, and issues a warning signal when the actual position and/or orientation of the users head and/or eyes is/are outside said boundaries.Linvention porte sur un dispositif de luminothérapie (1) comprenant : au moins une source de lumière (2) un dispositif de commande (10) pour commander le fonctionnement de la source de lumière une mémoire de limite (11) contenant des informations de limite définissant des limites pour la distance (D) et langle relatif (f) de la tête dun utilisateur par rapport à la source de lumière un moyen de surveillance (30) pour surveiller la distance réelle et langle relatif réel de la tête de lutilisateur et générer un signal de sortie indiquant la distance et langle mesurés. Le dispositif de commande a une entrée couplée à la mémoire pour recevoir les informations de limite, et a une entrée couplée au moyen de surveillance pour recevoir le signal de sortie à partir du moyen de surveillance. Le dispositif de commande compare le signal de sortie provenant du moyen de surveillance aux informations de limite, et émet un signal davertissement lorsque la position et/ou lorientation réelles de la tête et/ou des yeux de lutilisateur est/sont en dehors desdites limites.
