PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic sphygmomanometer that can be used with a sense of security without causing people around to feel uneasy.SOLUTION: An electronic sphygmomanometer 100 includes a housing 101 having a cuff holder 109 for accommodating a cuff 105 provided with a bag-like ischemia bag 107, a pump for pressurizing the inside of the ischemia bag 107, and a pressure sensor for detecting the pressure in the ischemia bag 107 accommodated in the cuff holder 109. When it is determined that the ischemia bag 107 is pressurized in a state where the cuff 105 is accommodated in the cuff holder 109, on the basis of the result of the detection by the pressure sensor, the pressurization by the pump is stopped.
