PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel interferon-like protein having increased biological activity.SOLUTION: There is provided a non-naturally occurring protein having human interferon-like biological activities, the protein being selected from the group consisting of proteins comprising amino acid sequences at least 90% or more and less than 95% identical to each specific sequence. Also provided is a protein having human interferon-like biological activities, the protein comprising a fragment consisting of at least 150 or more and less than 158 amino acids of a specific amino acid sequence.
