PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preferred balloon catheter for coronary artery vessel intervention, being smoothly inserted till a constricted portion and being less prone to slide when being inflated at the constricted portion.SOLUTION: A balloon 120 includes: a first base material surface 121 where a first irregular surface B1 is formed a second base material surface 122 where a second irregular surface B2, the irregularity of which is different from that of the first irregular surface B1, is formed and a hydrophilic polymer membrane 400 that covers the first and second base material surfaces 121 and 122.
