PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic observation assisting tool which is led out from within the conduit of the insertion section and placed on a distal-end surface of the insertion section to thereby stably secure the distance between a subject and a lens.SOLUTION: An endoscopic observation assisting tool 20 comprises: a body part 21 which is inserted into a conduit 7 extending from a hand side to a distal end of an insertion section 3 of an endoscope 2 with its portion at the distal side being protrudable from a distal-end surface 6a of the insertion section 3, and which is formed along a longitudinal axis a21; an assisting tool operation part 22 provided on a proximal end portion of the body part 21; and a deformation part 30 which is provided near the distal end portion of the body part 21 and deformable, by an operation of the operation part 22, to a state in which the deformation part is placed along an outer peripheral surface 21o of the distal end portion of the body part 21 to be receivable within the conduit 70 and to a state in which the deformation part forms a protrusion 36 axially outwardly relative to the outer peripheral surface 21o.
