The invention provides a polymeric thermoplastic biodegradable composition incorporating an antibiotic, in particular for production of inserts for the treatment and prevention of local infections, consisting of (a) at least one plastified polysaccharide component, which is selected from starch, a mixture of starch and maltodextrin, esterified starch, and a mixture of esterified starch and esterified maltodextrin, wherein maltodextrin is a mixture of oligosaccharides having the dextrose equivalent of at most 25, whereas the polysaccharide component further contains an antibiotic, and (b) a polyester component which is poly-ε-caprolactone and/or poly[(ε-caprolactam)-co-(ε-caprolactone)] containing at least 10 % of crystalline phase and having the crystalline phase melting temperature lower than 65 °C, in the weight ratio (a):(b) in the range of 4:1 to 1:9. Additionally, method of preparation of such composition is described.Linvention concerne une composition polymère thermoplastique biodégradable incorporant un antibiotique, en particulier pour la production dinserts pour le traitement et la prévention dinfections locales, consistant en (a) au moins un composant polysaccharide plastifié, qui est choisi parmi lamidon, un mélange damidon et de maltodextrine, damidon estérifié, et un mélange damidon estérifié et de maltodextrine estérifiée, la maltodextrine étant un mélange doligosaccharides ayant un équivalent en dextrose dau plus 25, tandis que le composant polysaccharide contient en outre un antibiotique, et (b) un composant polyester qui est la poly-ε-caprolactone et/ou la poly[(ε-caprolactam)-co-(ε-caprolactone)] contenant au moins 10 % de phase cristalline et ayant la température de fusion de phase cristalline inférieure à 65 °C, dans le rapport pondéral (a):(b) dans la plage allant de 4:1 à 1:9. De plus, linvention concerne une méthode de préparation dune telle composition.
