PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide activated carbon particles capable of achieving higher deodorant effect against an unpleasant odor of an acetaldehyde etc. with a small amount of activated carbon, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: (1) The method for manufacturing deodorant activated carbon particles (A) includes: having activated carbon particles (a) whose surface acid group amount is 0.2 mmol/g or more and whose pore volume is 0.7-3.0 cm3/g contain an aqueous solution of 5-35 concentration mass% of a specific hydroxyamine compound in an amount of 85-120% of the maximum water absorption in the activated carbon particles (a) and then drying it.
