To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a frozen dessert, in which even when a rotary seal is worn, the pushed surface pressure of a seal section of the rotary seal can be secured to enable drain to be prevented from leaking.SOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for manufacturing a frozen dessert includes a hopper 11 for storing a material for a frozen dessert, and a cooling cylinder 13 for cooling a material for a frozen dessert, supplied from the hopper 11 as appropriate, in the interior of a body. In the apparatus, a frozen dessert is manufactured by cooling a material for a frozen dessert while stirring the material by a beater 15 in the cooling cylinder 13. The apparatus for manufacturing a frozen dessert includes a drive shaft 23 rotationally driven by a drive motor 20, and is provided with a rotary seal 26 between the drive shaft 23 and the cooling cylinder 13.
