The invention relates to a two-speed fishing reel with a device which transmits the rotating movement from the handle to the rotor of the reel which comprises a first axle (1) on one of the ends of which is the handle and on which a gear A (5) and a gear B (6) are mounted and a second axle (2) which is parallel to the first axle (1) on which a gear C (8) and a gear D (9) are mounted. A third axle (3) is arranged in the direction transverse to said axles, one of the ends of the third axle being connected to the rotor of the reel and a gear E being arranged on the other end. Gear A, gear C and gear E engage with each other as do gear B and gear D. A blocking part (11) is arranged on the first axle between gear A (5) and gear B (6) and can be axially moved between the two gears.
