#$%^&*AU2014100743A420140724.pdf#####A Pickering Emulsion Comprising Nano Crystals of Silybin and A Method of Preparation Thereof ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a Pickering emulsion comprising nano crystals of silybin and a method of preparation thereof, wherein the emulsion is an oil-in-water type Pickering emulsion comprising nano crystals of silybin, oil phase and water. The preparation method of Pickering emulsion disclosed in the present invention makes silybin into nano crystals through high-pressure homogenization. The nano crystals of silybin are adsorbed to the surface of oil droplets to make the oil droplets wrapped by silybin. Silybin is partially dissolved in the oil phase, and partially adsorbed to the surface of the oil droplets in the form of nano crystals. The oil droplets can be stably dispersed in water to form stable emulsion. Silybin in the emulsion is active ingredient and also plays a role in stabilizing the emulsion. The emulsion prepared by this method does not contain any surfactant or organic solvents.
