PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for remedying the unpleasant odor (milk odor and fermentation odor) unique to fermented milk and the unsmooth aftertaste, and a fermented milk having better taste and flavor produced by the method.SOLUTION: Raw material for lactic fermentation of cow milk includes 3.5 to 14 mass% rare sugar-containing syrup in terms of solid content. Consequently the unpleasant odor unique to fermented milk and the unsmooth aftertaste can be remedied.
