The invention relates to a device for transporting an organ, comprising a containerfor organs, a gas-driven pump connected to said container and conduits for circulatinga liquid and/or gas through said container, and a controller for controllingthe pump and wherein there are pressure sensor means in the liquid output conduitof the pump, which pressure sensor means are connected to said controller andcontrol the drive for said pump, as well as a method for transporting an organ ina container, comprising placing an organ in said container, closing said containerand pumping a perfusion liquid as well as an oxygen- containing gas into said container,said pumping of liquid being caused by pressure from said oxygen-containinggas, the gas pressure on a pump provided thereto being varied to obtain the pumpingeffect and wherein the supply of gas to said pump is determined by the liquid characteristicsgenerated by said pump in said liquid.
