The device has a laser generator (10) emitting pulsed femtosecond laser radiation and optical components e.g. scanner (14), for guiding and focusing the radiation onto a treatment location on an eye (28). The components have a diffuser lens (18) and a converging lens (20) arranged in succession in the beam path of the radiation. An actuating drive (24) i.e. actuating drive, is assigned to the lens (18) for adjustment of the lenses. A control unit (26) accesses data concerning topography of a surface of the eye and controls the drive depending on the measured surface topography. An independent claim is also included for a control method for a laser device for laser-optical eye surgery.
