It is demonstrated that an extract of Asparagus cochinchinensis is effective for inhibiting neuroinflammation. The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and health-aid food for preventing or treating neurodegenerative diseases, which comprise an extract of Asparagus cochinchinensis as an active ingredient for inhibiting the activity of neuroglia cells. According to the present invention, the extract of Asparagus cochinchinensis can inhibit the activity of neuroinflammation response factors induced by neuroglia cells, and thus can provide a pharmaceutical composition or health-aid food for inhibiting neuroinflammation responses.
