PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring a temperature without inserting a sensor into a living body in order to detect the temperature of the human epidural space when cooling the spinal cord by inserting a cooling catheter into human epidural space.SOLUTION: The system for monitoring the temperature when cooling the epidural space is provided with a cooling catheter 1 for cooling the spinal cord which is inserted into the epidural space a pump 2 a heat exchanger 3 and a cooling device 4. The system comprises an entrance temperature detection means 6 which measures the temperature of a perfusion fluid 9 which flows in the cooling catheter 1, an exit temperature detection means 7 which measures the temperature of a perfusion fluid 9 which flows out of the cooling catheter 1 a flow detection means 5 which detects the flow of the perfusion fluid 9 and a temperature estimation means 8 which estimates the temperature of the epidural space into which the cooling catheter 1 is inserted from the value of each temperature of the perfusion fluid 9 detected by the respective detection means and the value of the flow of the perfusion fluid.COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT【課題】ヒト硬膜外腔に冷却用のカテーテルを入れ脊髄を冷却する際に、硬膜外腔の温度検知のため生体内に温度センサを入れずに、温度をモニタする方法を提供する。
