The method includes: providing cordyceps sinensis raw materials warmly soaking the cordyceps sinensis raw materials with water with the weight being 16-24 times of that of the cordyceps sinensis raw materials for 8-12 hours under 38-42 DEG C filtering the soaking liquid to obtain the cordyceps sinensis extract optionally, sterilizing the cordyceps sinensis extract at high temperature of 118-122 DEG C for 10-20 minutes, wherein the cordyceps sinensis is complete cordyceps sinensis, broken cordyceps sinensis or cordyceps sinensis with only sporocarp or cordyceps body part, or powdered cordyceps sinensis. The cordyceps sinensis extract prepared by the method contains the beautifying active components (such as inosine) and can be processed into various whitening products such as medicine, healthcare products, food, beverage, food additives and nutrition enhancers or beautifying products.
