This invention provides a new application to 1,2-di-O-galloyl-4,6-O-(S)-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-8-D-glucose (i.e. GHG) that is contained in Kenyanpurple tea (scientific name: camellia sinensis; variety name: TRFK306), aswell as a new circadian-rhythm regulator that can be widely used inmedicines, foods and drinks, and cosmetics. The circadian-rhythm regulatorof this invention is characterized in containing the GHG as an activeingredient for promoting the BMAL1 gene-expression. Also, the circadian-rhythmregulator of this invention is characterized in containing the GHG-contentextract derived from Kenyan purple tea as an active ingredient forpromoting the BMAL1 gene-expression.
