PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object determination device for vehicles, which improves the degree of accuracy in determining an angle at which an object resides, regardless of the physique of a driver or ones driving position.
SOLUTION: The device is directed for determining an angle at which the driver watches an object existing on a vehicle, such as a side mirror on either the right or left. The device detects the direction of the drivers visual line (S10, S12), when he watches an object (such as, a side mirror on either the right or the left side), and stores the detected directions of a visual line, together with the number of detections (S16, S22). When the number of detections stored reaches a threshold (prescribed value) or more, the device determines that the direction of a visual line which is most frequently stored is the angle at which the object (a right or left side mirror, or the like) that the driver has watched exists (S18, S20, S24, S26).
