This invention relates to a process for dyeing textiles wool, silk and cotton with plant sources Bistorata roots (Polygonum bistorata ) and Nutgrass roots (Cyprus rotundus) with help of natural mordants, amla (Emblica officinalis), arjun (Terminalia arjuna), babool (Acacia nilotica) and eucalyptus (Eucalyptus sp.) and synthetic mordants alum, ferrous sulphate, stannous chloride, tannic acid comprising: i) extraction of dye at pH 4-10 for 30-105 minutes. - ii) Dyeing at pH 4-10 using dye material concentration 1-7 gmsfgm of fabric for 30-105 minutes and individually using 1-25% owf of amla, arjun, babool, eucalyptus and alum 1-5% owf of ferrous sulphate, stannous chloride and tannic acid. Wherein three mordanting methods of premordanting, simultaneous mordanting and post mordanting have been used for developing colours.
