A method for simulating spine surgery in a computer system is disclosed. The computer system is used for executing the following steps: (a) receiving a knife selection instruction for selecting a knife of cylinder, ellipse or cone shape (b) performing sample point setting to the knife according to the knife selection instruction (c) calculating a sweeping area of the knife (d) calculating a voxelization area of the knife, wherein the voxelization area comprises calculating closed straight lines formed by cross points with minimal and maximal distances to XY, YZ or XZ planes among a plurality of cross points including a knife surface and a knife edge passing surface in the X, Y and Z axles of a volume coordinate system (e) comparing the voxelization area with volume sample points to determine whether there is a cut (f) dynamically determining a knife sample point and (g) comparing the knife sample point with the voxelization area to determine a force of outputting a force feedback device.
