PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for generating a volume image is provided to effectively remove a stitch artifact in the volume image of a target.CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for generating a volume image includes a probe (110) and an image control part (120). The probe transmits an ultrasonic signal to a target divided into multiple zones. The probe receives a response signal reflected from the target. The image control part generates a first sub-volume image corresponding to a first zone among the zones based on the response signal. The image control part generates a second sub-volume image corresponding to a second zone among the zones, and the second zone is in contact with the first zone.
