A tablet comprising: a core comprising rasagiline mesylate and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable excipient and an acid resistant pharmaceutically acceptable coating, wherein said acid resistant pharmaceutically acceptable coating comprises methacrylic acid - ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) and a plasticizer and in the coating, the ratio of methacrylic acid - ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1) to plasticizer by weight is 5 to 1, wherein the plasticizer is triethyl citrate and wherein said tablet releases the following percentages of rasagiline mesylate when placed in a basket apparatus in 500 mL of buffered aqueous media at 37°C at 75 revolutions per minute for 60 minutes under the following pH conditions: a) 0% in 0.1 N HCl b) between 0 and 20% in a phosphate buffer solution with a pH of 6.0.
