PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a three-dimensional position of an operation instrument in a photography space by use of a function of a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: In this system, the operation instrument 2 operated in the photography space of the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus by a user is provided with three coils 31, 33, 35 having sensitivity directions perpendicular to each other, and the three-dimensional positions of the operation instrument 2 is calculated on the basis of voltage induced when sequentially applying gradient magnetic fields to three directions perpendicular to each other of the photography space.
