The present invention is directed to providing a medical imaging device and a magnetic resonance imaging device, which are capable of predicting a motion artifact by detecting a motion of a patient by measuring an electromyographic signal of the patient, and a control method thereof. In accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure, a magnetic resonance imaging device comprises: a scanner configured to apply a magnetic field and a radio frequency (RF) signal to a patient and acquire a magnetic resonance signal a signal measurement unit configured to measure an electromyographic signal of the patient a controller configured to determine a motion characteristic of the patient based on the measured electromyographic signal and predict whether a motion artifact caused by a motion of the patient will occur on the basis of the determined motion characteristic of the patient and a data processor configured to store the magnetic resonance signal and reconstruct a magnetic resonance image using the stored magnetic resonance signal.
