The device comprises a strip of fabric 1 and a buckle 2. The buckle may be self-locking and the device in use forms an adjustable loop of fabric which extends around the user’s back and knees. The buckle may comprise two identical halves with slots 7 through which the fabric passes. The two halves may be separated by a pivot 4. The buckle may be formed of plywood and the fabric strip may be formed of hessian. When strategically placed onto the body, for example when sat in a cross-legged position, the device creates a counter-balance between the weight of the legs and the weight of the body and forms a resistive area for the torso to lean back against, such leaning action giving a supporting lift to the legs.
