The equipment consists of a mechanism for the transport of the seeds and a mechanism (B) for draining the coating. The transport mechanism consists of a seed reservoir (35), from where the seeds are picked by a handling mechanism (22), by means of a suction device (28). The transport mechanism is driven by a power source (25), which rotates the handling mechanism through 180 degrees, from the position where it attracts the seeds to the position, where it releases them. Draining of the gel is carried out at a location corresponding to the position, where the seeds are liberated and is carried out by means of a circulation canal (9), which is filled with gel, by means of a piston (77) which inserts the gel, under pressure, through an insertion hole. A plunger (8) opens a valve at a time to correspond with the seed release and the gel flows through, partly to fall and partly to form the coating bed.
