A cabinet for handling distributable inventory of items which includes adrawer. The cabinet further includes setsof bins each of which is associated with one drawer. Each set of bins isassociated with each such set of shafts. Each bin has alocking element for locking the lid. A set of actuators associated each shaftfor rotating to unlock the locking element. The cabinetfurther includes a drawer access and control system (DACS) for controlling andmanaging the activation of the set of actuators.
