PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition enhancing a stability of astaxanthins which is known to be useful for an antioxidant effect and/or an anti-inflammatory effect, a skin whitening and/or an anti-aging, and the like, and maintaining the effects over a long period of time, or to provide a stabilizing agent, or to provide a stabilization method.SOLUTION: Provided are a composition which exhibits a remarkable effect for preventing fading of astaxanthins by light and stabilizing them, can effectively exhibit the effects of astaxanthins, and is useful in preventing and ameliorating a rough and dry skin or a wrinkle, preventing and ameliorating stains, and anti-aging and whitening by in combination astaxanthins with Zingiberaceae plant or extracts thereof (a root, a rhizome, or extracts thereof of Zingiberaceae plant selected from Zingiber, Curcuma, and the like)； and a cosmetic combining the composition.【課題】酸化防止効果・抗炎症効果及び皮膚美白・老化防止等に有用であることが知られているアスタキサンチン類の安定性を高め、その効果を長期にわたって維持させた組成物、又は安定化剤や安定化方法の提供。【解決手段】アスタキサンチン類に、ショウガ科植物又はその抽出物（ショウガ属、ウコン属から選ばれるショウガ科植物の根、根茎又はその抽出物等）を組み合わせることにより、アスタキサンチン類の光による褪色の防止や安定化に著しい効果を発揮し、アスタキサンチン類の効果を有効に発揮させることができ、肌荒れやシワの予防、改善、シミの予防、改善に有効であり、老化防止や美白に有用である組成物及び前記組成物を配合した化粧料。【選択図】なし
