Electro-stimulation method and system for the treatment of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) through an external actuator in the pharyngeal-laryngeal musculature. Through this actuator, the muscles involved receive an electrical stimulus, in order to expand the muscular opening and achieve sufficient air flow to avoid lack of air. This stimulus acts only if an apnea episode is detected by analyzing the sound patterns of the upper airways. Both detection and treatment are self-adjusting to adapt according to the morphology of the patient and the evolution of the disease or problem.Método y sistema de electroestimulación para el tratamiento del Síndrome de Apnea Obstructiva del Sueño (SAOS) mediante un actuador externo en la musculatura faríngeo-laríngea. Mediante este actuador, los músculos implicados reciben un estímulo eléctrico, con el fin de ampliar la apertura muscular y conseguir el flujo de aire suficiente para evitar la falta de aire. Dicho estímulo actúa únicamente en caso de detectarse un episodio de apnea mediante el análisis de los patrones de sonido de las vías aéreas superiores. Tanto la detección como el tratamiento son autoajustables para adaptarse según la morfología del paciente y evolución de la enfermedad o problema.
