Provided is a detergent composition comprising (A) 2 mass% to 17.5mass% of an anionic surfactant, (B) 1 mass% to 17.5 mass% of an amphoteric surfactant, (C) 2.5mass% to 17mass% of a hydrophilic nonionic surfactant, and (D) 0.2mass% to 5mass% of an oily component. However, the detergent composition does not contain substantial amounts of fatty acid monoglycerol ester or monoalkyl monoglyceryl ether having an alkyl group or an acyl group having 9 or more carbon atoms.
