To provide a surgical instrument capable of applying locally microwaves to a fine biological tissue.SOLUTION: A ratio of a cross sectional area or a diameter of a central conductor 1 to a cross sectional area or an inner diameter of an external conductor 3 is made to be constant, and a cross sectional area of the central conductor and a cross sectional area of the external conductor are reduced gradually or stepwise.
