Methods, systems and computer-readable code for generating a forecast of alife-threatening condition, for examplesepsis, in a subject, for example an infant, are disclosed. According to someembodiments, the forecast is generated in accordancewith measurement values for a plurality of different vital sign parameters. Inexemplary embodiments, vital sign parameters froma plurality of physiological systems are used to generate the forecast of thelife-threatening condition. In exemplary embodiments,at least one vital sign parameter is other than a cardiac parameter. Non-limiting exemplary vital sign parameters may include oneor more of a heart rate parameter, a respiration rate parameter, a bradycardiaparameter, a desaturation parameter, a temperatureparameter (for example, body temperature) and a body mass parameter.
