The present invention discloses a lactobacillus plantarum BB9 with gastrointestinal tract adhering ability and cholesterol eliminating capability, which is the lactobacillus plantarum BB9 isolated from fruits, The BB9 lactic acid bacteria strain shows high BSH activity. In vitro test, the bacteria strain shows superior acid resistance and bile salt-resistance, and has strong adhesive ability for gastrointestinal tract. In vivo test, the cholesterol and triglyceride levels in blood and liver of hamsters that are fed with the diet added high cholesterol and BB9 bacteria strain are effectively lowered, and the ratio of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) to low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c) in blood is significantly higher than that of the hamsters that are fed with cholesterol-free diet. By the lactic acid bacteria strain having better acid resistance, bile salt resistance and gastrointestinal tract adhering ability, it ensures the efficacy of lowering the cholesterol level in human body.本發明旨在揭示一種具有腸胃道吸附能力及排除膽固醇能力之植物乳桿菌BB9,其為分離自水果的植物乳桿菌(Lactobacillus plantarum)BB9,該BB9乳酸菌株可表現高度的BSH活性,以體外試驗也證實該菌株有良好的耐酸性及耐膽鹽性,此外對腸道細胞的吸附能力也相當強;在體內試驗方面,顯示餵食高膽固醇飲食並添加BB9菌株的倉鼠,可有效降低血液及肝臟中的膽固醇和三酸甘油酯,而且血液中的高密度脂蛋白與低密度脂蛋白膽固醇(HDL-c/LDL-c)比值相較於無餵食膽固醇的倉鼠有顯著性提高,以期藉由該乳酸菌種所提供更佳之耐酸性、耐膽鹽性及腸道吸附能力,以確實產生降低人體內膽固醇濃度之效用。
