PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-tree pruner and a method of pruning which are suitable for pruning a high tree or a remote tree capable of pruning safely even from the ground less-expensively without using a specialized machine, and further enabling the pruning of the backside of the tree. SOLUTION: A trimer unit having a motor M1 for driving pruning clippers 3 is supported by the rotary part 6a of a rotator 6 for rotating the clippers, and the rotator 6 is linked to the front end 12 of a backhoe boom or the like via a parallel axis 7 and a rising angle-controlling cylinder 10. The parallel axis 7 and the rising angle-controlling cylinder 10 may be linked to the front end 12 of a backhoe boom or the like via another oscillating rotator 14.
