PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for artificial cartilage formation which can form an artificial cartilage regardless of size or shape.SOLUTION: A substrate 1 for artificial cartilage formation in a hollow shape, and a stoma 11 are formed. A chondrocyte 2 is contained inside of the substrate. The substrate 1 for artificial cartilage formation is set under the environment where a biological tissue material is present. A connective tissue 4 and a blood vessel enter the interior of the substrate from the stoma 11. A supply route from the outside to the interior of the substrate for nourishment and oxygen is secured. The culturing environment of a cartilage is composed inside of the substrate.
