A catheter is provided comprising a flexible heat transfer element provided on an outer surface of the catheter. The catheter further comprises a conduit arranged to supply an inflation fluid for inflating the flexible heat transfer element so as to form an inflated balloon, and a plurality of cooling elements arranged to cool said inflation fluid for inflating the balloon. Each cooling element comprises a first tube provided inside a second tube, wherein the first tube is substantially parallel to the second tube. The second tube is configured to receive a flow of a coolant for cooling the cooling element from the first tube.L'invention concerne un cathéter comprenant un élément souple de transfert thermique disposé sur une surface extérieure du cathéter. Le cathéter comprend en outre un conduit conçu pour délivrer un fluide de gonflage destiné à gonfler l'élément souple de transfert thermique afin de former un ballonnet gonflé, et une pluralité d'éléments de refroidissement conçus pour refroidir ledit fluide de gonflage destiné à gonfler le ballonnet. Chaque élément de refroidissement comprend un premier tube situé à l'intérieur d'un second tube, le premier tube étant sensiblement parallèle au second tube. Le second tube est conçu pour recevoir un écoulement de réfrigérant destiné à refroidir l'élément de refroidissement à partir du premier tube.
