PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil device appropriate for parallel imaging.SOLUTION: Two loop surfaces 42 and 44 of a butterfly coil 40 and two loop surfaces 52 and 54 of a butterfly coil 50 are placed so that they are virtually located on the same plane (on ZX plane). Further, the butterfly coil 40 is placed so that it is placed almost between the two loop surfaces 52 and 54 of the butterfly coil 50. In this placement, in regions R1 and R3 where high coil sensitivity is not obtained in the butterfly coil 40, the butterfly coil 50 has high coil sensitivity, whereas in a region R2 where high coil sensitivity is not obtained in the butterfly coil 50, the butterfly coil 40 has high coil sensitivity.
