Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operatingmethods are provided. An exemplary method of operating aninfusion device (100,500) to deliver fluid to a body of a user involvesobtaining measurement values for a physiological conditioninfluenced by the fluid, autonomously operating the infusion deviceto deliver the fluid based at least in part on the measurement values,and detecting a nonactionable condition based on the measurementvalues. In response to detecting the nonactionable condition, deliveryof the fluid is limited while maintaining autonomous operationof the infusion device. In one exemplary embodiment, the nonactionablecondition is a rescue condition indicative of the user havingconsumed fast-acting carbohydrates, and thus insulin delivery maybe automatically limited in response to detecting the rescue carbohydrateconsumption.
