The present inventions relates to a process for the selection of anti c-Metantibodies capable to inhibit both ligand-dependentand ligand-independent activation of c-Met. More particularly, said process isbased on the inhibition of the c-Metdimerization. In another aspect, the present invention concerns suchantibodies and compositions comprising such antibodies for thepreparation of a medicament to treat cancer.
