PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a landing timing specifying apparatus which specifies the landing timing of the second leg by means of a sensor having a device fitted to the first leg.
SOLUTION: A walking assisting apparatus 10 comprises a reaction force sensor 22, an acceleration sensor 34 and a timing specifying section 42. The reaction force sensor 22 detects grounding reaction force applied on the sole of the first leg to which a leg device 12 is fitted. The acceleration sensor 34 detects vertical acceleration of the thigh of the first leg. The timing specifying section 44 specifies the reaction force timing when the detected grounding reaction force exceeds a predetermined reaction force threshold and the acceleration timing when the detected acceleration exceeds a predetermined acceleration threshold, and specifies the landing timing of the second leg on the basis of the timings.
