PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interest degree estimation apparatus and interest degree estimation method capable of appropriately evaluating an interest degree of a crowd of people in an object.SOLUTION: The interest degree estimation apparatus: inputs a moving image obtained by capturing a crowd of people stimulated by an object (S1)； recognizes presence of respective persons constituting the crowd on the basis of the moving image (S2)； acquires a pulse of each person on the basis of a change in luminance of each person's skin in the moving image (S3)； recognizes attributes of each person in the moving image (S4 and S5)； corrects the pulse of each person so as to eliminate a difference in the pulse depending on the attributes (S6)； statistically processes the corrected pulses of the respective persons to calculate a statistical processing value of the pulse of the crowd (S7)； and outputs a numerical index according to the statistical processing value of the pulse of the crowd, as an interest degree (S9 and S10).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2【課題】対象に対する群衆の関心度を適切に評価することができる関心度推定装置および関心度推定方法を提供すること。【解決手段】対象から刺激を受けている群衆が撮影された動画を入力する（Ｓ１）。その動画に基づいて群衆を構成する各人の存在を認識する（Ｓ２）。その動画中の各人の肌の輝度変化に基づいて、各人の脈拍を求める（Ｓ３）。その動画中の各人の属性を認識する（Ｓ４，Ｓ５）。その属性に依存した脈拍の差を無くすように、各人の脈拍をそれぞれ補正する（Ｓ６）。その補正された各人の脈拍を統計処理して、群衆の脈拍の統計処理値を求める（Ｓ７）。群衆の脈拍の統計処理値に応じた数値指標を関心度として出力する（Ｓ９，Ｓ１０）。【選択図】図２
