The instant invention provides a method for diagnosing an infection in a subject by administering to the subject a compound suitable for imaging which binds to a thymidine kinase present in the infecting organism, and obtaining an image of the subject to determine the presence and location of the compound, wherein a localization of the compound is indicative that the subject has an infection.La présente invention porte sur une méthode de diagnostic dune infection chez un sujet, cette méthode consistant à administrer au sujet un composé approprié à limagerie et qui se lie à une thymidine kinase présente dans lorganisme étant à lorigine de linfection et à obtenir une image du sujet afin de déterminer la présence du composé et le localiser, la localisation du composé indiquant que le sujet présente une infection.
