#$%^&*AU2017219007A120170907.pdf#####ABSTRACT A biocompatible polymeric composition for cross-linking in-situ in a wound is disclosed comprising 1) one or more polyanionic polymers such as alginates or hyaluronates, able to be cross-linked the surface of the wound and 2) one or more polycationic polymers such as chitosan or DEAE-Dextran, that assists in the solidification process as well as speeds up hemostasis without the need for applying pressure. The biocompatible polymeric composition may further comprise a cross-linking agent such as aqueous calcium chloride.
