The disposable diaper has a pair of cuffs extending in a longitudinal direction and being stretchable and contractible along respective sides thereof. One cuff of the paired cuffs includes a first elastic member attached to an outer edge of this cuff. The other cuff of the paired cuffs includes a proximal edge fixed to an inner side thereof and a second elastic member attached to a free edge thereof. At least one of the paired cuffs additionally includes a third elastic member attached thereto in the vicinity of the zone in which the proximal edge is fixed.
