PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a salad packed in a container that renders the surface of the salad difficult to dry even when time elapses after unsealing the container and dishing up the salad packed in the container on a plate or the like in a method for producing a salad packed in a container by packing and sealing in the container the salad made by dressing ingredients with an emulsified seasoning liquid.SOLUTION: In the method for producing a salad packed in a container by packing and sealing in the container the salad made by dressing ingredients with an emulsified seasoning liquid, the emulsified seasoning liquid being the part exclusive of the ingredients of the salad contains an edible oil, an emulsifier, a thickener, salt and acetic acid and is W/O/W type emulsified. The emulsified seasoning liquid has a water content of 50-98%, a ratio of the water content contained in the outer water phase to the water content in the emulsified seasoning liquid of not less than 60%, a salt content in the outer water phase of 2-8% and an acetic acid content of 0.1-3%. The method comprises subjecting the salad packed in the container to heat treatment after packing and sealing the salad in the container.
