PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter assembly configured to continuously and simply check flashback of blood.SOLUTION: A catheter assembly 10 includes a catheter 12, and an inner needle 16. The inner needle 16 includes: a distal opening 17a a hollow portion 17 and a lateral hole 17b that is communicated to the hollow portion 17 and makes blood flowing via the hollow portion 17 flow out from an axially-mid-flow position of the inner needle 16 to the outside of the inner needle 16. The lateral hole 17b is located at a proximal side with respect to the catheter 12.
